STATEMENT ABOUT THE PROJECT EVERLASTING VALUE AND PERMANENT ACTUALITY OF THE EDICT OF MILAN - ON THE WAY TO THE GREAT JUBILEE IN 2013

In 2011 CIVIS Association began implementation of the project Everlasting Value and Permanent Actuality of the Edict of Milan - On the Way to the Great Jubilee in 2013, in partnership with the Committee of the Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church in charge for the preparation of the celebration of 1700 years of the Edict of Milan, Austrian PRO ORIENTE Foundation and the Swiss Peace and Crises Management Foundation, which was finalized with the second conference in the City of Novi Sad and publishing the second publication with the title The Edict of Milan (313-2013): The basis for Freedom of Religion and Belief ?

On Sunday, 26 January 2014 in the Archbishop's Curia in Belgrade, formal lunch and fruitful discussion were held, and on this occasion guests received publication resulted from this project.

The CIVIS Association awarded Acknowledgements for wholehearted support during the realisation of the project to: His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Mr. Irinej and His Grace Bishop Irinej of Bačka (Bishop Porphyrios on their behalf received Acknowledgments); H.E. Archbishop Orlando Antonini, Apostolic Nuncio; Archbishop and Metropolitan of Belgrade, Msgr. Stanislav Hočevar; Dr Johann Marte, President of the PRO ORIENTE Foundation; Mr. Boris Vukobrat, President and Founder of the Swiss Peace and Crises Management Foundation and Prof. Dr Darko Tanasković.

On the occasion of celebrating the anniversary - 1700 years of the Edict of Milan - painter, Mr. Dragan Stojkov, donated his painting to the Holy See.
