PROMOTION OF THE REPORT OF THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE GROUP OF EMINENT PERSONS “LIVING TOGETHER: COMBINING DIVERSITY AND FREEDOM IN 21ST CENTURY EUROPE”
On 21 June 2013 at the Ceremonial Hall at the Higher School of Professional Business Studies in Novi Sad, within the project “Living With Diversity and Benefit from It”, was held promotion of the Report of the Council of Europe Group of eminent persons with the title “Living together: Combining Diversity and Freedom in 21st century Europe”.
The audience on promotion were greeted by Professor Dr Radovan Tomić, director of the Higher School of Professional Business Studies in Novi Sad. After Professor Dr Tomić the audience addressed Professor Dr Darko Tanasković, who is professor at the Department for Oriental Studies at the Faculty of Philology University of Belgrade. Moderator was Marina Đorđević, Project Manager of the Association CIVIS.
Professor Dr Tanasković, as the University professor who is familiar with young people’s problems on the one hand, and on the other as a writer, translator and a former ambassador and diplomat, characterised this Report as a high-quality, different from other similar reports, with plenty of good practise examples from European countries. Discussion was continued in form of direct conversation with students and present professors, who had come from different towns of Vojvodina, and all with the aim of further sending Report’s messages and recommendations so as many as possible citizens, especially young people, could become familiar with those important and current issues of Serbia towards European integrations.
Promotion had an excellent attendance, and students were very intrigued with the subject of discussion and Report’s recommendations, and also inspired by Professor Dr Tanasković exposure to continue conversation and openly exchange opinions about differences and freedoms in today’s Europe.
The project was recognised and supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Belgrade, while the Council of Europe assigned the Association CIVIS rights to print the second edition and promotion of publication in Serbia.
