PROMOTION OF THE BOOK BY PROF. DR VLADIMIR GLIGOROV
NEOCLASSICISM IN THE BALKANS AND OTHER ESSAYS

Association of Non-governmental Organisations of Southeast Europe – CIVIS organizes promotion of the book by Prof. Dr Vladimir Gligorov “Neoclassicism in the Balkans and Other Essays“ on 20 February 2013 in Media Centre Belgrade at 12h, II floor, Small Hall.  

The book reviews the Balkan transition, regionally and country by country. The failure of transition to promote development and modernization is explained by institutional and political deficiencies. 

The aim is to highlight the enduring characteristics of the Balkan economies and thus provide the reasons for this regions continuos falling behind the developed countries. So, the book deals with Balkan failure on the example of political and economic transition in the last few decades.

Vladimir Gligorov was born in 1945 in Belgrade. He worked and studied in Belgrade, Zagreb, New York, Fairfax Virginia, Uppsala, Paris and Vienna.
