TRAINING FOR CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS REPRESENTATIVES FOR WORK IN THE FIELD OF PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION

CIVIS participated in the training for civil society organizations representatives for work in the field of personal data protection which was organized by the Partners for Democratic Change Serbia, supported by the Fund for an Open Society and in cooperation with the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection. Training was held in the Country Club Babe in Sopot, from November 23-25th and December 10-12th 2011.

Some of the themes that were discussed on this occasion were right for personal data protection, civil society organization work in the field of personal data processing, media and personal data processing, Commissioner Authority and supervision, Central Register etc.

This training, which is part of the project Support for use of the Law on personal data protection, attracted representatives from 20 civil society organizations from Serbia. The five day training goal was to raise civil society organizations capacity to work in accordance to the Law on personal data protection, processing and keeping personal data information, organizations public advocacy for running their work and individual behavior by the Law on the personal data information. This interactive training provided participants insight and information about citizens’ privacy protection, especially minors.
