YOUTH LEADERS - LEADERS FOR THE FUTURE

The final conference Program for youth leaders in Serbia was organized on 1st April 2011 in the House of Youth by Civic Initiatives and in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Serbia. This three-day conference in Belgrade continued the campaign "Young Serbia: See, Move and Change" which was launched on December 10th2010, on Human Rights Day, aiming to promote social activism among high school students. High school students from Serbia presented their experiences gained during their stay in USA as well as in the implementation of organized actions in their municipalities.

Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Serbia, Ms. Sanežana Samardžić Marković, addressed the meeting, as well as State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Science, Ms. Tinde Kovač Cerović and U.S. Ambassador, H.E. Ms. Mary Warlick with messages supporting activism of young people, their ideas and open communication with its environment.

According to the coordinator of the Youth Program – Ms. Maja Stojanović, Civic Initiative will seek to improve these programs, because only through education, gaining experience and building true values future leaders will be created.
