WINTER SESSION OF THE CONFERENCE OF INTERNATIONAL 
NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS OF THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE

Winter session of the Conference of INGOs was held on 25th and 26th of January 2011. Civil Society and Democracy Committee updated on the implementation of the Code of good practice for civil participation in the decision-making process.

Culture, Science and Education Committee summarized the work of the sub committees, and theHuman Rights Committee updated on the progress of reform of the European Court of Human Rights. Within activities planned for 2011, participation by the committee and the INGOs at the First European Youth and Human Rights Fair was presented. This Committee also reported on the progress within the project the Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights. They discussed human rights issues in the context of religion and migration.

Social Cohesion and Eradication of Poverty Committee presented the outcome of the conference in Skopje to launch the new Social Cohesion Action Plan. Also very important was invitation to the high profile event on Social Shared Responsibility –Brussels, 28 February 2011 organised by the Social Cohesion Division on Research and Development of the Council of Europe.

Sustainable Territorial Development Committee discussed a human rights issue - preventive action against major risks, culture risk, climatic change and extreme events.
