COOPERATION BETWEEN CIVIS AND ITALIAN PARTNERS – COOPERATIVES COO.BE.C . AND PRO.REST S.R.L.

The visit of the Italian delegation to Serbia, made of Rolando Rammacini (President of COO.BE.C), Bruno Gori (President of Pro.Rest s.r.l.) and Nizar Tagi, took place on the 28th and 29th of April in Belgrade and Niš.

The main goal of the Italian visit was to find for COO.BE.C and Pro.Rest appropriate partner(s) for joint projects among organizations, institutions and associations related to conservations and restoration activities of cultural heritage in Serbia.

The official visit started in Niš, where the Italian delegation met Mr. Mile Veljkovic, Director of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments Cultural Heritage Preservation Niš. This meeting was very important for the roman historic heritage in this territory as well as for the Milan’ Edict’s anniversary scheduled for the year 2013. Italian Delegation had a great opportunity to visit archeological site “Mediana”, where archeologist Toni Cerškov, explained the position of Mediana, its structure and historical importance. The visit to Niš ended at the meeting hosted by the city councilor of Nis responsible for the cultural affairs Mr. Miodrag Radović.

The next day, the delegation met in Belgrade with the work of newly established Central Institute for Conservation. The Head of the Institute, Ms. Mila Popovic-Zivancevic enlightened the guests with the activities and the importance of this institution and a visit to Vinca archeological site was organized, where possibilities for cooperation were discussed with local experts.

In the Ministry for Culture of the Republic of Serbia, the delegation was hosted by Assistant Minister for protection of cultural heritage, Ms. Dušica Živković.  Mr. Gori emphasized the need to develop the cooperation through several phases such as research, project planning, organization of the courses and work with materials and on the site.

The last meeting was held in Historical Museum of Serbia with the custodian Mr. Boban Veljkovic who presented possibilities for cooperation in the field of restoration of books and frescoes.
